Jamorama Guitar Course - What Do You Get With The Course ?

There are quite a few guitar courses on the market these days. Some are pretty good and others are not so good. Jamorama is one of the better ones in my opinion. Firstly the amount of content that is provided is excellent value. For the cost of one face to face guitar lesson with a tutor you can get the  complete course and a few bonuses on the side. This article will run through what you actually get for your money.

The main part of the course is the Jamorama Maestro program (v2.03 at time of writing). When you run this program, you are given access to 2 books. The first book is for beginners and consists of 16 sections or lessons. The second book is for advanced players and consists of 16 sections or lessons.

Each lesson is basically a separate PDF file. The PDF files or lessons have a similar format to the popular dummies books. There is text describing the basics of a lesson. Throughout the lessons there are icons which indicate certain pro tips, things to watch out, video or audio accompaniments to the text, amusing or related trivia. This breaks up the lessons and adds a touch of informality to each lesson. There is extensive use of color diagrams and pictures. There is extensive use of audio and video that can be clicked with a mouse button to open up a new window. The audio and video are used to show how to do various things with the guitar like finger placement for the chords or a strumming style.

There are a few bonuses to help you get started or keep you motivated along the way. You have to go to the Jamorama site and download these programs.

So you get a guitar tuner program. This helps you to tune your guitar to a particular setting. By clicking the strings on the program you listen and try to get your strings to sound the same. It’s pretty easy after you have played around with it.

The metronome program helps you to keep your timing when strumming. It just like a proper metronome only it’s on your computer.

There is another program called the guit-ear-it, which helps you hear music or rather individual notes within a piece of music. This helps you to break down songs or de-construct them so that you can play them yourself. It takes the form of a multiple choice quiz where you hear a note strummed and have to guess what the note is. The quiz gets gradually harder as you progress.

Other bonuses include the Jayde Musica Pro game that helps you to read music and a 30 day trial of the songpond website. Songpond is a website that teaches you how to play popular songs. It is video of someone playing an actual song that you can follow along with. It’s pretty good but you have to pay after the trial so you may want to go through the Jamorama course before going to songpond if you want to get the most out of the trial.

Finally there is a forum that is fairly active, where you can ask questions about the course or about playing the guitar in general. This is a good community where you can share your experiences and frustrations and get advice along the way.

All this represents good value for money and is a good course to help you learn guitar.  Go to the official Jamorama site for more details.
